Cavaliers defeat Gorillas

On Friday, The Gorillas traveled to Tyndall to play the Cavaliers. In the first quarter, the score was 13-10 with the Gorillas down by three. In the second quarter, the score was 26-23, the Gorillas trailing again by three. In the third, the Cavaliers pulled ahead with a score of 45-36. But in the fourth, the Gorillas couldn’t catch up losing 62-47. Tommy Determan ended the game with 23 points.

On the offensive side, the team was 17/45 for 45% from the field. The team was 9/12 for 75% from the free throw line. The team was also 4/14 for 29% from the three-point line. T. Determan’s 23 points were followed by Grant Thomas’14 points. T. Determan had four offensive rebounds and Carson Klundt had two.

On the defensive side, the team had two steals, one block, and 22 rebounds. T. Determan had six defensive rebounds, Coy Determan had four, and Thomas and Garret Roeder had two.

“Hopefully we come out with a win on Saturday, it will move us up and we don’t have to play Monday and Tuesday two straight games. We’re playing well going into regions, now we have to win or go home,” Evan Juracek said.

The Gorillas will be playing on Saturday in a make-up game against Rapid City Christian. The C game will start at 3 p.m., and JV will follow.
