The Gregory Middle School Track Team held a home meet on Tuesday competing against Platte-Geddes, Winner, Bennett County, St. Francis, Burke/South Central, Lyman, Colome, and Todd County.

For the 8th grade boys Jackson Eklund placed 1st in the 200 meter dash and 4th in the 100 meter dash. Santana Serr placed 4th in the 800 meter run and 5th in the 1600 meter run. Tommy Determan placed 1st in high jump and 3rd in the 100 meter hurdles. Evan Juracek placed 1st in triple jump and 5th in high jump. The 4X100 meter relay team placed 1st along with the 4X200 team. The 4X400 team placed 2nd. The 8th grade boys placed 2nd place with 76 points behind Burke/South Central with 104 points.

For the 7th grade boys Rhoss Oliver placed 1st in discus and 2nd in shot put. Reece Odenbach placed 6th in the 100 meter hurdles. The 4X200 meter team placed 2nd, and the 800 meter medley relay team placed 3rd. Zach Eklund placed 5th in long jump. The 7th grade boys placed 4th overall with 35 points.

For the 8th grade girls Sydney Svatos placed 1st in long jump and triple jump. BriLee Peck placed 1st in the 100 meter hurdles and 7th in long jump. Makayla Thomas placed 1st in high jump and 4th in shot put. Salma Serr placed 4th in high jump. Jaslee Kerner placed 2nd in the 100 meter dash. Summer Janis placed 4th in the 200 meter dash. The 4X400 and 800 meter medley relay teams placed 1st, and the 4X100 meter relay team placed 2nd. The 8th grade girls won the meet with 92 points followed by Lyman with 81.

For the 7th grade girls Emma Thomas placed 2nd in the 1600 meter run. Keeley Klein placed 1st in high jump, and Brooklynn Kenzy placed 5th in long jump. Samantha Timanus placed 1st in shot put and 7th in discus. Dakota Timanus placed 6th in shot put, and Grace Kenzy placed 8th in discus. The 4X100 meter relay team placed 7th and the 4X200 meter relay team placed 3rd. The 800 meter medley relay team placed 1st.

Head coach Lonnie Klundt said, “With two track meets completed our times are already improving. The 8th grade girls have won both meets and are looking to keep improving and finish undefeated.”

The Middle School track team’s next meet will be in Corsica today starting at 1:00 p.m.
