The high school marching band traveled to Platte on Friday Sept. 25, and came home very successful. They were awarded 1st place in flag corps, drum major, Addy Nelson is Gregory’s drum major this year, drum line, and overall most outstanding band in the A division. The band scored 858 out of 1000 points overall, Kimball got 2nd place with 722 points.

Other places the marching Gorillas have gone to is Burke to march in its homecoming parade, which was on Sept. 11.  They also marched at Gregory’s homecoming parade and performed at the halftime show of the homecoming football game.

Their last marching competition will be at the River City Band Festival in Chamberlain on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 10 a.m. Band Director Opp is excited about the River City Band Festival he said, “It’s always a fun day going to Chamberlain and competing against other local bands”.
