Gregory Instrumentalists Awarded Numerous Superiors

Last Friday, 90 students from Gregory’s fifth-eighth grade bands travelled to Winner for an instrumental contest. Scores in the contest ranged from I+ or superior+ to III or good. They received a total of 7 I+’s, 45 I’s, 7 I-‘s, 10 II+’s, 19 II’s, and 2 III’s.

Students earning superior+’s included fifth graders Luke Stukel on snare, Rane Kenzy on Trumpet, Jackson Bolander on trombone, Robbie Posadas on tuba, sixth grader Eli Baretto on tuba, Kade Stukel from seventh grade on snare, and eighth grader Christian Spann on flute.

Superiors were fifth graders Teah Fiebelkorn on mallets and snare, Nick Kenzy on mallets and snare, Ashley Reinartz on flute, Emily Long on clarinet, Lily Jacobson on clarinet, Jad Leber on trumpet, Adrianna Ziady on trumpet, Brandon Nguyen on alto sax, Marissa Zimmerman on alto sax, Cruz Klundt on alto sax, Cole Serr on alto sax, Gabbryel Jung on baritone, Kyler Svoboda on trombone, and Zachary Wheeler on French horn. Sixth graders were Shelby Spann on French horn, Nathan Fortuna on snare, Mya Determan on snare and mallets, Justin Westcoat on clarinet, Kaydence Klein on baritone, Jordan Svatos on alto sax, and Trey Murray on trombone. Seventh graders included Jessy Jo VanDerWerff on trumpet, Kade Stukel on mallets, Xzavian Fiebelkorn on mallets and snare, Katherine Stevicks on clarinet, Samantha Reinartz on clarinet, Lana Talsma on alto sax, Eli Fogel on alto sax, Sapphire Kenzy on alto sax, Vy Nguyen on flute, Kailey Thompson on trombone, and Ashtyn Waldner on snare. The eighth graders were Dillyn Harsin on French horn, Coy Determan on trumpet, Brooklynn Kenzy on snare, Carson Klundt on snare and mallets, Summer Janis on trombone, Nancy Khuu on flute, Sierra Rencountre on flute, and Natalie Fiebelkorn on tuba.

Students receiving superior- were fifth graders Luke Stukel on mallets and Paul Sinclair on baritone. Sixth graders were Paige Rezac on flute, Owen Winters on baritone, and Nathan Fortuna on mallets. Eighth graders included Daniel Ziady on trumpet and Dakota Timanus on clarinet.

Excellent+ included fifth graders Noah Bearshield on trumpet, Karly Haney on French horn, Jhett Eklund on trombone, Shianne Songer on flute, and Ashlyn Vosika on flute. The sixth grader was Cindy Khuu on clarinet. The seventh grader was Ethan Long on trumpet. Eighth graders included Julianna Blas on clarinet and Anna Dargatz on tuba.

Students who earned excellent included fifth graders Allison Stevicks on clarinet and Logan Kaluhickalani on baritone. Sixth graders included Jordan Spann on oboe, Rylan Peck on trombone, Gannon Thomas on trombone, William Feyereisen on trumpet, Dori Bruns on trumpet, Michael Antelope on trumpet, Kade Braun on trumpet, Morgan Opbroek on alto sax, Savannah Schrader on clarinet, and Jamison Vanderpol on the tuba. Seventh graders were Luke Sinclair on trombone and Jaden Graber on trombone. Eighth graders were Emma Thomas on mallets and snare, Brooklynn Kenzy on mallets, Henry Odegard on alto sax, and Gracie Kenzy on trumpet.

Students receiving a good were sixth grader Daniel Mitchell on alto sax and eighth grader Kyle Grim.
