Last Thursday, the wrestling team traveled to Chamberlain for a triangular. Winning against Chamberlain 50-14 and Kimball-White Lake/Platte-Geddes 51-22, Storm had a good night.
Starting off the dual against Chamberlain, Blake Boes defeated Collin Powell 11-2. Up next, Atlas Willuweit beat Spencer Kirkpatrick 4-0. Shaw Winters fell to Jake Lopez with a score of 5-16. Wrestling Jacob Lacota, Laddy Johnson came out on top with a score of 10-4. JJ Beck took a defeat from Jim Bob Ellsworth 1-10. After, Kurt Braun pinned Troy Lopez in 3:23, and Levi Schonebaum won 18-2 against Nathan Powell. Brandon Warnke beat Matt Hauke 15-0, and Turner Serr received a forfeit. Jonah Beck pinned Connor Wood in 1:40, and Skye Soesbe pinned Sean Wood in :43. Next, Dowain Kerner got pinned by Nick Claussen, and Tyson Serr defeated Austin Cheney 4-2. Colten Nelson then wrestled Zach Ristar and won 2-0. Last up was Andy McCance pinning Connor Wood in 1:25 during his exhibition match.
Next up, they faced KWLPG. Atlas Willuweit pinned Ty Namanny in 2:59, while Blake Boes fell to Jackson Nockels 0-12. Shaw Winters tried fighting Alex Daum’s pin, but got stuck at 2:34. Laddy Johnson and JJ Beck each received an open. Kurt Braun defeated Chance Fredericksen 15-0, and Levi Schonebaum’s match was open. Next, Turner Serr, wrestling Jace Pulse, won 18-3. Jonah Beck won 16-0 against Jesse Kirsch. Skye Soesbe then got stuck by Turner Blasius in 2:18. Dowain Kerner pinned Nathaniel Schroeder in 3:04, and Tyson Serr pinned Matt Warejcka in :41. Colten Nelson got pinned by Austin Moore in 1:35. In the two exhibition matches, Michael Clark pinned Tyler Resick in :39, and Cade Fortuna ended up losing 1-2 to Bo Donald.
Storm’s next action will be a dual in Gregory against Parkston tomorrow night starting at 6:30 p.m.
