Gregory places second in Academic Olympics

The Academic Olympics were held in Burke last Wednesday and Gregory took twenty-five students to compete in the test portion of the event and four to compete in the quiz bowl. The other towns who attended were Burke, Winner, White River, Platte-Geddes, Colome, and Bonesteel. Gregory took home 2nd place in the team point category finishing only 2 points behind the winners, Platte-Geddes.

The placers for Gregory included Peyton Feyereisen who placed 1st in physical science followed by Tyler Murray who placed 3rd in physical science. Jon Bakke placed 1st in geometry. Allison Ekroth placed 1st in grammar III, and Hannah Juracek placed 1st in physics and 2nd in Literature III. Roger Frank II placed 1st in literature III and 2nd in advanced math. Robert Vomacka placed 2nd in physics and 3rd in advanced math. Jacey Feyereisen placed 2nd in grammar IV, and Matt Neitzel placed 2nd in American Government.

The four students to compete in the quiz bowl for Gregory were Roger Frank II, Cassity Kerner, Jacey Feyereisen, and Hannah Juracek. The team was unfortunately beat out in the first round by Winner. Colome went on to win the quiz bowl. Frank and Juracek tied for the top student of the day scoring the most points out of all the students competing.
