The Gregory High School Track Team attended the SESD conference meet in Winner on Tuesday. The teams who competed were Mt. Vernon/Plankinton, Ethan/Parkston, Platte-Geddes, Wagner, Bon Homme, Chamberlain, Winner, and Scotland.

Joseph Veskrna placed 2nd in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 16.96 followed by Blake Boes in 6th with a time of 18.6. Blake Boes also placed 5th in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 46.7. Gregory’s 4×100 meter relay team placed 3rd with a time of 46.68. The 4×200 meter relay team placed 6th with a 1:44.78. The 4×800 meter relay team placed 3rd with a time of 9:19.07 and the 4X400 meter relay team placed 3rd with a prequalifying time of 3:38.11. Triv Vosika placed 3rd in high jump with a jump of 5’11”. Blake Boes and Tommy Determan placed 4th and 5th both with jumps of 5’9”. Robert Vomacka placed 3rd in triple jump with a leap of 38’3”.

Lauren Svatos placed 6th in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.08. The girl’s 4×100 meter relay team placed 6th with a time of 54.89, and the 4×200 team placed 5th with a time of 1:58.39.

The Gorillas next meet will be the region track meet hosted in Gregory on Thursday starting at 10:00 a.m. After regions whoever places 1st or 2nd individually in an event or is already prequalified will move on to the state meet in Sioux Falls on May 27 and 28.
