JV Boys Lose to Red Raiders

On Monday the boys JV basketball team lost to the Lyman Red Raiders at home. The Gorillas were down by 5 in the first quarter, and in the second quarter both teams didn’t score. In both the third and fourth quarters the Gorillas were outscored by 4 points, and the game came to an end with a score of 58-45.

Sean Curtis led the Gorillas with 14 points, and Max Klundt followed close behind with 13 points. Curtis also was 5 for 7 for free throws, and Caleb Stukel and Daniel Bruque-Daza were both 1 for 1 for free throws. The team shot 50% from the field and 53% from the three-point line. Blase Steffen had two assists, and Klundt, Curtis, Garret Roeder, Dylan Borszich, and Triv Vosika each had one apiece.

On the defensive side the Gorillas had 11 rebounds. Borszich and Oliver Thieme had 3 apiece, and Klundt and Curtis followed with 2 rebounds apiece. Borszich also had two steals.

Curtis said, “We came up short, but we know what to work on for our next couple games.”
