Boys Place Second in Chamberlain

Saturday the track team traveled to Chamberlain for a track meet. The boys placed second overall with a total of 119 points. Chamberlain received first with 123 points.

Placing first in shot put was Andrew Taggart throwing a total of 40’2 ½”. Placing second was Damon Eagle Star with 40’1”. Throwing for discus and placing fifth was Eagle Star with 105’2”.

In high jump Jayd VanDerWerff placed first with a total of 5’8”. Robert Vomacka placed third with 5’8”. Placing fifth was Mason Juracek with 5’6”. Jumping in the triple jump was Aaron Voigt placing sixth with 31’6 ¼”.

Placing second was Sam Voigt, Ole Skrebergene, Aaron Voigt, and Layne Olsen in the 3200 relay with a time of 09:56.1. Running the 110 hurdles Cody Kafka placed second with a time of 19. Derek Stukel placed sixth in the 100 with a time of 12.23. Taggart, Vomacka, Sean Kafka, and VanDerWerff placed second in the 800 relay with a time of 01:42.4. Placing third in the 400 relay, Joseph Veskrna, Brandon Warnke, Juracek, and Sean Kafka ran it in 52.03.

Running in the 400 was Sam Voigt; he placed sixth with a time of 59.53. Running the 300 meter hurdles, Scott Shoemaker placed first with a time of 42.18, Veskrna placed third with 49.47, and Cody Kafka placed fourth with a time of 50.71. Running the 1600 meter relay and placing fourth with a time of 04:38.6 was Sean Kafka, Juracek, Warnke, and Olsen. Voigt ran the 800 placing third and getting a time of 02:25.0. Aaron Voigt placed third in the 3200 with a time of 11:59.8. Max Klundt also ran it placing fifth with a time of 13:25.9. Taggart, Shoemaker, VanDerWerff, and Vomcka ran the 1600 meter relay placing first with a time of 03:51.5.
