The Gregory Golf Varsity Team traveled to Platte for the boys’ Platte-Geddes golf tournament and Burke for the girls’ Burke/South Central golf tournament last Friday.  The day showed improvement for some golfers.

For the Platte tournament, Jon Bakke was the only entry for the boys.  Bakke played a front 9 of golf shooting a 37, his personal best this year.  Finishing with an 83, Bakke placed 5th.

In Burke, Emma Schweigert shot a 115 for 15th place.  Scoring a 124, Natalee Graesser improved her round by ten strokes.  Due to injury, Sarah Sieh was unable to finish her round.

“They need to work on their short game and putting.  I would like to see the boys place as a team in the top four,” said Coach Renee Thomas.  The Gorillas next competition will be the Avon/Bon Homme Tournament on Friday, May 2.  Go support the golfers!
