On Saturday, September 28, the Gregory Competitive Cheer/dance Team traveled to Douglas for the first time.  Coach Lenna Braun stated, ” It was  a good experience to see different judges and also get to see teams we normally wouldn’t get to see until state.  With having two girls gone the other girls definitely pulled their own weight and came out with three great routines.”

The first routine Gregory performed was kick, and they competed against Sturgis and Rapid City Central.  Placing third with 126.5 points with no deductions was Gregory.  The judges gave great comments about adding difficulty to the routine. The overall kick winner was Rapid City Central with 151.5.

The next dance routine was hip-hop.  Gregory came out sixth in hip-hop with a 108.5.  The girls are working on adding difficulty by putting in more tricks and harder transitions.  The overall hip-hop winner was Rapid City Central with 154.

Last but not least was pom.  The girls received fifth out of seven teams with a score of 120. In the pom routine they are working on adding/sharpening motions.  The overall pom winner was Spearfish with 164.5

In over-all dance Gregory brought home third pace with 118.33 points, and winning overall was Rapid City Central with 156.5.  The next competition will be held on Saturday, October12, in DakotaValley at 4:00.
