Cross Country Works Hard!

Thursday September 6 the cross country team went to Butte, Nebraskafor the West Boyd Cross Country Meet. All together nine teams attended this meet. Sam, Aaron, and Skye ran a 5k for boys’ varsity. Molly and Bonnie ran a 4k for girls’ varsity. Max and Megan ran 2,500 meters for junior high. Max placed 4th and had a time of 10:47 for the boys’ division. Megan placed 9th and had a time of 10:49 for the girls’ division. Molly placed 8th and had a time of 21:42. Bonnie placed 18th and had a time of 24:34. Skye placed 37th and had a time of 27:25. Aaron placed 19th and had a time of 20:25. Sam placed 4th and had a time of 19:12.

On Thursday, September 13, the Gorilla cross country team traveled to Chamberlain to their largest meet so far with over 20 schools participating. Skye, Max, and Aaron started the meet off with the boys’ JV 4k run. All three ran a nice race with Aaron coming in 5th with a time of 16:12. Max came in next placing 29th in a time of 19:13 and Skye placed 33rd with a time of 20:08. Molly and Bonnie both saw improvements in their 4k times over the last week. Molly ran her race in 19:27 and Bonnie ran hers in 21:36. Sam ran the varsity boys’ 5k race in a time of 20:12.

Saturday, September 15, the team traveled to Wagner. The JV boys had some good 4k times with Aaron working hard to take 1st place with a time of 16:34. Max took home the 10th place medal in 19:04, and Skye placed 13th in 21:47. Molly improved on her 4k time once again, coming in 17th place in a time of 19:17, and Bonnie came in 27th with a time of 22:46. Sam ran his best race of the year placing 9th in a time of 18:06. The team travels to Bon Homme on Monday, September 17, and toPlatte on Saturday ,September 22.
