On Aug. 30 the Gregory Gorillas played the Burke Cougars. The score was 35-14. Jackson Eklund rushed 20 times for 130 yards, had six first downs, and had one touchdown. He received one for 12 yards.

On offense, Grant Thomas rushed 11 times for 64 yards and had three touchdowns. He also received one for 13 yards. Luke Murray rushed six times for 13 yards. Coy Determan rushed 5 times for 31 yards and had one touchdown. He passed 4 of 13 attempts for 85 yards.

On defense, Murray had nine tackles and three assists with a total of 12. He also had one interception. Jordan Vosika had four tackles and four assists with a total of eight. Eklund had four tackles and two assists with a total of six and one sack.

“We played them on all levels of the game and stayed together as a team,” Grant Thomas said.

The Gorillas will be playing against Wosley/Wessington at home. The game will start at 7 p.m. on Friday.
