Gorillas Defeat Highlanders but Lose to Coyotes

On Friday, the Gorillas traveled to Scotland to take on the Highlanders. The final score was 61-42. Tommy Determan had 23 points to end the game.

On the offensive side, the team was 23/53 for 43% from the field. The team was 10/11 for 91% from the free throw line. The team was also 7/20 for 35% from the three-point line. T. Determan’s 23 points were followed by Coy Determan’s 21 points. Bryan Eagle Star had three offensive rebounds and T. Determan had two.

On the defensive side, the team had seven steals, three blocks, and 28 rebounds. T. Determan had nine defensive rebounds, C. Determan had four, and Evan Juracek had three.

On Saturday, the Gorillas played the Jones County Coyotes at home. The final score was 62-57. C. Determan had 32 points.

On the offensive side, the team was 20/50 for 40% from the field. The team was 11/12 for 92% from the free throw line. The team was also 4/13 for 31% from the three-point line. C. Determan’s 32 points were followed by T. Determan’s 15 points. T. Determan had three of the six offensive rebounds.

On the defensive side, the team had seven steals, three blocks, and 21 rebounds. T. Determan had eight defensive rebounds.

“I think we’re going to surprise some people. Also we need to quit making mistakes,” said Tommy Determan.

On Tuesday, the Gorillas are traveling to Lyman to play the Raiders. The JV game will begin at 6:30 p.m. and varsity will follow.
