Spiker’s Season Has Ended

Dakota Christian (AC\DC) in Gregory. AC\DC won in three sets, making this the Spiker’s last game of the season.

The Spikers had beat AC\DC during regular season on Monday, October 22. The Spikers won the fifth set with a score of 16-14, making for a very close and intense game. Unfortunately for the Spikers, the regions game was not nearly as close. AC\DC won the first set 25-10, the second set 25-21, and the third set 25-15. The Spikers had an overall serving percentage of 87%, lower than it had been for the past ten games.

Senior Addy Nelson impressively hit 25/25 spikes and served 9/9 balls over.

Senior Megan Warnke had 5 kills, 5 digs, an ace block, and 12/14 serve receives (86%).

Eighth grader Jessy Jo VanDerWerff had 17 out of 18 hits, 3 of which were kills. She also served 6/6 and had 13 digs.

 Junior Brooklyn Vanderwerf served 6/6 and set 29/34 for an 85% accuracy.

Junior Sydney Svatos served 9/10 serves and had 3 aces. She set 35/42 for an 83% accuracy and had 8 digs.

Junior Brilee Peck serve received 9/11 for an 82% accuracy. She also had 11 digs.

The seniors Megan Warnke, Addy Nelson, and Kaycee Haney have walked off the volleyball court for the last time of their high school careers. Although the game didn’t how the team expected or desired, the Spikers will remember all the good times they had and friendships they made this season.
