Spikers squeeze by AC/DC

Last Thursday the Spikers traveled to Dakota Christian to take on Andes Central/Dakota Christian for their last regular game of the season. The Spikers won the first two sets, lost the third and fourth, and came back winning the fifth, 26-24, 25-23, 20-25, 23-25, 16-14. The game was very exciting keeping everyone on their toes. The girls proved they wanted to be there and on the team working hard for their victory.

Addy Nelson had 23/23 service points, Sydney Svatos served 20/21, and Megan Warnke served 18/20. Warnke and Svatos both served three ace serves. Warnke had 13 attack kills having 34/41 attacks. Nelson attacked the ball 31/41, and Makayla Thomas 29/34. Svatos had 74/80 set/ace assists, and Brooklyn VanDerWerff had 61/73.
Jessy Jo VanDerWerff had 19/24 serve receives where Warnke had 20/22. Nelson, Svatos, and Warnke all had two ace blocks each. Warnke getting 36 digs came close to the school record of 42 digs during a game. Jessy Jo VanDerWerff had 19 digs, and B. VanDerWerff and Svatos had 18.

Addy Nelson said, “I’m excited to see how far we’ll go although it’s my last year.
Tuesday the Spikers begin region action at home starting at 7. Once again they will be playing AC/DC. Join them to see if they can defeat them twice in two weeks.
