The Gorillas lost their 28 game winning streak by one point to the Bon Homme Cavaliers (Cavs) last Friday. In the second quarter, the Gorillas scored the first touchdown of the night. Shortly after this, the Cavs rebounded with a touchdown by Noah Heesch, and Crownover kicked for the extra point, scoring 7 points. Neither the Gorillas nor the Cavs were able to make any points in the second half of the game, creating a win for the Cavaliers, 7-6.

“They performed very well, and they played very hard against an incredibly good football team. We had opportunities to win the game, but they came up a little bit short,” Coach Allmendinger said.

Caleb Stukel scored our single touchdown, running 26 yards to score. He also rushed 85 yards and completed a pass for 22 yards.

Jeremiah Beck rushed 47 yards and received one pass for 22 yards. On defense, he completed 13 tackles.

Tyler Murray rushed 16 yards, received two passes for 27 yards, had eight tackles, and one sack. His brother, Luke Murray, had seven tackles and one sack.

Quarterback Grant Thomas attempted 11 passes, but only 5 were completed, gaining 22 yards.

It was a low-scoring game with tough defense on either side, but Gorilla fans are confident in the Gorillas’ ability to start a new winning streak. Their next game is in Gregory against Platte/Geddes at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow for homecoming.

“We’re going to fix the things that were wrong the previous game, and we’re going to play better in certain parts of the game [when we play Platte],” Coach Allmendinger said.
