On Monday, April 16, Gregory hosted the piano and 5th– 8th vocal contest. The students are judged on a number scale with a superior plus or 1+ being the best. As a school, Gregory had 11 total entries that earned a superior plus in the vocal and piano contest combined.

The entries that scored a superior plus in the solo portion were William Feyereisen, Shelby Spann, Jordan Spann, Kaydence Klein, Kade Stukel, Kodi Timanus, Christian Spann, Shaylee Serr, and Luke Stukel. The trio consisting of C. Spann, Dillyn Harsin, and Courtney Grim also received a 1+. For the piano contest, Mya Determan was the only student from Gregory who scored a superior plus.

Thirty-one entries scored just below a superior plus with a superior or 1. Katherine Stevicks, Brandon Nguyen, Marissa Zimmerman, Lily Jacobsen, Alyson Blacksmith, Sapphire Kenzy, Ravyn Oliver, Jaden Grader, Justin Wescoatt, Nathan Fortuna, Dillyn Harsin, and Brooklyn Kenzy all received a superior on their solos. Six groups received a superior on their songs. Groups consisted of S. Spann, Jordan Svatos, Savannah Schrader, and London Flakus; J. Spann, Paige Rezac, Dori Bruns, Klein, and Cindy Khuu; Blacksmith, Stevicks, Jessica Esterling, Oliver, S. Kenzy, Samantha Reinartz, and Sarah Parkis; Nguyen, Jad Leber, L. Stukel, and Demitris Fiebelkorn; Emily Long, Ashley Reinartz, Shianne Songer, and Kaydence EagleStar; Ashlyn Vosika, Jacobsen, Zimmerman, and Paul Sinclair. Pianists that received a superior were Luke Baretto, Eli Baretto, Madisan Graber, Teah Fiebelkorn, C. Spann, Lincoln Juracek, Asia VanDerWerff, Coy Determan, B. Kenzy, Dani Timanus, Lana Talsma, Vy Nguyen and Klein.

Participants who earned a 1- in their solos were M. Determan, Trey Murray, and Sierra Rencountre. Groups that received a 1- were J. Graber, K. Stukel, Jessy Jo VanDerWerff, B. Kenzy, and K. Timanus; Dawn EagleStar, Ashtyn Waldner, L. Talsma, and Kaleigh Thompson; Recountre, Summer Talsma, Serr, and Nancy Khuu.

Natalie Fiebelkorn was the only participant who received an excellent plus or a II+. A. Reinartz was the only soloist who received an excellent. For piano solos, Zimmerman, Isaac Hull, and Ellie Talsma all received an excellent.

The BK-5th grade spring concert will be held Monday, April 30 at 7 p.m. in the Gregory Auditorium. The 6-12 spring concert is May 7 at 7:30 p.m. also in the Auditorium. The 6-12 band concert will be May 10 at the Gregory Park Performance Center at 7 p.m.
