On Nov. 3, the Miller- Highmore Harrold Rustlers (8-2) traveled to Gregory to take on the Gregory Gorillas (10-0). The Gorillas won with a score of 60-14 to advance to the dome. The Gorillas set a new school record with 23 consecutive wins. Andy McCance broke Jaden Bartling’s 2012 record of 465 yards of all purpose with 507. Caleb Stukel ran the ball for 92 yards from McCance to break Jayd VanDerWerff’s 2016 record of 89 yards from McCance. Stukel also broke Nate Schmitz’s 2010 record of receiving 211 yards for 271 yards. VanDerWerff’s five interceptions in a season ties Stukel’s, Robert Vomacka’s, and his own from 2016.

Stukel led with touchdowns with four and two two-point conversions, with VanDerWerff following close behind with two touchdowns and one two-point conversion. In the first quarter of the game, Stukel ran 25 yards from McCance to score, and McCance had a 67 yard scamper to make the score 16-8. The second and third quarters consisted of Blake Boes running a 13-yard touchdown from McCance, VanDerWerff ran 15 yards to score again, and Stukel ran another 76 yards to make the score 52-8 with the Gorillas on top. In the fourth quarter Stukel had a nine yard run to make the final score 60-14.

Stukel led with tackles with eight, and JJ Beck and Evan Juracek followed with six each. Beck also had one sack. The Gorillas will take on the Irene-Wakonda Eagles on Thursday, Nov. 9, at 1:30 p.m. at the Dakota Dome in Vermillion.
