Spikers fall short to Red Raiders

Thursday, Sep. 3 the Spikers fought hard in Presho in their game against the Lyman Raiders, but came up short, losing the match 3-0. Lauren Svatos led the Spikers with 11 kills followed by Jacey Feyerisen and Ivy Ekroth with 9 kills apiece. Emma Schweigert and Megan Warnke each put up 7 kills for the Spikers.
The Raiders took the lead early, winning the first set 25-18. They used the momentum from the first set and took the second set with a score of 25-8. The third set the Spikers rallied but still could not pull off the set win, losing 26-24.
Alexa Hannahs led the Spikers with 30 set assists followed by Allison Ekroth with 13 set assists. Hannahs also led the team along with Maddie Eklund, both with 6 digs, followed by Nika Eagle Star with 5, and Feyereisen and Ekroth with 4 apiece.
Sophomore Alexa Hannahs said, “It was a tough loss, but hopefully we can use that momentum to bounce back and win our next game.”
The Spikers will play in the Bon Homme tournament on Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m.
