With two points from a perfect score, readers theatre won a superior at the State Oral Interp. Festival in Pierre on December 7. The readers theatre team consists of Isaac Barreto, senior; Tommy Determan, junior; Grant Thomas, junior; Salma Serr, junior; Megan Warnke, senior; and BriLee Peck, junior. “The best experience of oral interp. would have to be the excitement when we found out we got a superior,” explained Serr.

Junior Jaslee Kerner, competing in non-original oratory, finished the season with an excellent rating. Freshman Christian Spann, competing in storytelling, also had an excellent rating.

At the state festival three judges give a score of 5-15, with five being the best. Then they combine the scores with a superior being a 15-21, an excellent being 22-30, and a good being a 31-45.
