On September 18, the Gorilla Marching Band dominated in Platte at the second annual Missouri Valley Marching Festival. They brought home first place in the “A” division, beating Mt. Vernon/Plankinton. They swept the special awards including outstanding drum line, outstanding flag corps, and outstanding drum major.

Senior Dowain Kerner said, “It was really hot, but we went through it, and it was a lot of fun.”

The band marched last weekend for homecoming and performed at the football game. They will be marching in the Burke homecoming parade on Oct. 10 at 1:00. They will also be participating in the River City Band Festival in Chamberlain on Saturday, Oct. 11, starting at 10 a.m.
